Not Ready Yet, Baseball, Good Viewings, and Smurfs

Not much happening in Bodunklivar since the 'bad wing' arrived. Got over the bike yesterday and was unable to put very much pressure on the right arm/wrist so I plan to give it a couple more days; still able to work my core everyday so at least that is something.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was Ian's baseball season opener and they killed the other team 17-5. Ian went 3 for 3 (scored twice) and made his usual solid plays in the field. This year is going to be nice. A quick stop at Braums (ice cream anyone???) topped off the evening.

Jake is back to running after having his Achilles flare badly after the Lebanon meet (running the 4 x 800, open 8, and 4 x 400 was too much). He hits the massage therapist once a week and we do tons of stretching at the house in the evenings. Coach is running him in the open 800 this Friday at the Hillcrest Invitational (HI) and he is dreading it as lack of running = lack of speed. If you get a chance to come out to the HI this Friday afternoon it will not disappoint. 5 or 6 of the state's top XC'ers are running the 3200m; expected better than the 5A state race.

Dropping in the trim work (not easy with one arm) in the bathroom over the next couple days. Jim's work on the tile turned out awesome and Deb is way happy (that makes all of us the same way).

Kicking around the idea of putting in a sprinkler system at the casa. Don't really want to pay someone to do what I can with time and a little sweat. Don't think I would do both of the lots (I live on a double lot), but just the front where the house lays.

Cycling watching (via Gore's invention - HA) is top notch this time of year. So many events (stage racing to one day classics) and this week is the peak. Today you had the choice of Scheldeprijs, Basque Country, or Circuit Cycliste Sarthe; I started with Schel then caught the finale of Basque (both decent sprints). My favorite quote for the day was from Eeckhout upset with his break partners: "...especially that SMURF from Lotto, what was he thinking" - awesome. ***The 'Smurf's' bike is pictured to the left and is pretty small indeed, but for one cyclist to call another small is kind of pot and kettle'ish, isn't it (except for a couple)?***

Not sure if anyone can ride with FC on the cobbles this weekend, but you never know. The biggest question is 'what will happen to GH?' as it's always something (missing the only move of the day or mechanical or ...). Thankfully I am not 'the experts' so I'll wait to hear their takes as the weekend draws closer.
