We Have A Driver!!!!

Jake has had his driving permit for the past year and today (only a month after turning 16, for Pete's sake) he took his driver's test and... PASSED (first try). He has dramatically improved his driving skills over the past six months and I feel pretty good about him driving alone. Needless to say he is on cloud nine! He took off on his first solo drive tonight (all of 2 miles to a bible study). He left wearing a grin and arrived home with the same one (don't figure it ever left). To quote the boy-wonder "O to the Yeah"!

On a side note: His leg is not hurting today (walking only), which is pretty significant considering it was giving him fits on the last part of his treadmill test yesterday. Hopefully rehab is working. Tonight he has a significant interval session on the trainer as it is only a week before conference meet.
Ian has battled asthme since birth and up until Saturday had taken Singulair as a daily preventative. Recent studies showing an increase in anxiety and suicidal issues in those taking the med, so (like the great mom she is) Deb took him in for a updated physical exam and got his preventative changed to a different med. It is interesting as Ian is such a fun-loving guy (who laughs a ton), but has made off-the-cuff comments that caught us by surprise a handful of times (which sparked Deb's research). We hope the new meds (or lack of Singulair) will help address this soon. He and I got in a ton of baseball and basketball this evening. He will not be a happy camper this morning when he finds out the Spurs are out of the playoffs.
Fitness: Ira and I headed out for an hour of intervals after work on the road and got in 4 x 5min and 1 x 7min great efforts (after Monday it was all my legs allowed) over rolling terrain. I like training with him as our HR/effort levels are very similar and he never skips out or dogs an effort.
