Drizzled/rained pretty much all day until after 6pm.
Got up and watched some Romandie. Fun to catch races during the week. Giro is just around the corner and, as advertised, interested to see Levi and Lance against a loaded field. Speaking of L & L, Gila is over and saw brief results, but not the full report. Looks like Levi protected his lead with 3rd on the day and Lance got 2nd and 2nd overall.
Headed to church with the little boys (Jake and Scuba came later). Tom continued with Songs of Solomon and the message was well delivered (I know your reading, Tom) and spoke to me. Got home and Deb whipped up some spaghetti for the whole crew. Took the little boys to SBU and played some 500 (baseball game) in the Multi since it was too wet to do outside. After several games we headed over to the main gym where a recruit was playing basketball with the team. I am friends with the head coach so we parked it there for a while and watched. The kids are always in awe of the players and the fact that they got to hang out in the locker room and talk with the guys was huge for them. Funny to see Ian and Payton (all four ft. of them) standing with 6'10" and 6'11" guys - where was my camera. Finished up and headed back home where many games of NCCA Basketball was played on the 360. Jake and Scuba headed over to a friend's house for a little DDR and the Wolverine movie afterwards. Payton headed home and I headed out on the bike for a tempo ride around 6pm (when the rain finally stopped). Came back home, ate some hot wing chicken salad, watched some games of Farkle with Deb's dad and mom, and gave them some love as they depart for S.D. in the morning. Deb and I caught up on Amazing Race, I then played some CofD4, and am now heading to bed. GOOD WEEKEND.
Still bummed about not racing in STL this weekend, but in the big picture I don't get paid for doing it, my life doesn't depend on it, and other things took priority. There will always be more in the near future for this Cat 4/Sport want-to-be. My next event hopefully is Tulsa Tough crits at the end of May.
Fitness: 1:30hr ride on urban (as urban as Bolivar gets) streets with tons of cornering; not at high speed, but good pace to start getting the feel.
Glad to see some things do not change, or at least you don't.
