Go, Go, Go... Mondays Are Like That

I would not classify the Jones crew living a busy or hectic lifestyle as for the most part it is easy going, but Monday's seem to be a little busier than most days (at least until Ian drops one sport).

Day started off like most; get the boys (now just boy as Jake drives himself) to school and head over to the daily grind. Got in a little basketball at noon and went over to track practice late afternoon. Bolivar middle school was having their home track meet so high schooler's practiced earlier than normal to get out of their way. Didn't stay too long as it was a shortened session with the conference meet today (Tuesday) in Marshfield. Went straight from track to Ian's baseball practice (3:30-5:30 - one of the coaches picked up Ian and his son at school and took them to the ball fields) and caught the last hour. Deb had a salon appt. at 5:30 so I picked up some grub on the fly and fed the boys before heading out to Ian's basketball practice at 6:30 (goes for an hour). Bolted home to get Ian showered (after two practices he was due), homework done, Deb tucked him in bed, and I saved the world as we know it from certain doom (Jake and I are still working on CofD4 - on Veteran level). Like I said its not hectic, but a little busy.

Things will slow down soon when track is done and Ian has only baseball for the summer. We have a strict 1 sport/activity at a time policy for the boys (not to overwhelm them) and the two sports going on now is a fluke as baseball games don't start until after basketball is finished. We had to overlap the practices to get him on this baseball team. Ian wanted badly to also play flag football at the Y on Saturdays, but it had games the same time as basketball and he had to chose 1 sport (easily chose basketball over others). I like the paced life Deb and I have and rarely feel like there is not enough time in the day.

Jake's leg is already back to the same pain level as when he left off, but is dealing with it like a champ. He is back on the 4x800 and 4x400 teams and will run the open 800 tomorrow at the COC conference meet. He has a couple weeks to go before full recovery.

Deb leaves for her cruise on Friday and she is so looking forward to this trip with her friends (especially time with her sister Mandee). The two of them get along so well and have a lot of fun. I am looking forward to a house full of testosterone (although it is pretty much that way already). I always miss Deb when we are apart, but it makes me smile to know she will have a great relaxing fun filled week without playing mom to her THREE boys.

Fitness: Played 1hr of basketball on Monday. Today will try to get a steady paced 1:30hr at lunch working a little speed out of corners.
